William Beebe, legendary American naturalist, is perhaps best known for his famed deep-sea bathyscaphe expeditions off the coast of Bermuda during the Great Depression. Beebe was granted the use of Nonsuch Island in Bermuda in 1928, which served as his research station, affording him the opportunity to study local flora and fauna up close, and also provided a convenient shore-based support facility for his deep-sea investigations between 1930 and 1934.
This expedition, a first of its kind, will follow in the footsteps of William Beebe, from Nonsuch Island to helmet diving off the coast in beautiful turquoise waters.
In Bermuda, expeditioneers are treated to a full itinerary of inspiring and educational experiences during the 8-day journey back-in-time as we trace the steps of William Beebe and the dawn of human ocean exploration.
